COUNSELLING

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." MAYA ANGELOU
WHY SEEK THERAPY?
Counselling is confidential and collaborative giving you the chance to explore, express and make sense of your feelings in a non-judgmental, empathic environment with a professional who is trained to listen and support.
At challenging times in life, when talking to friends and family is not quite enough, you may find counselling helpful as it is a chance to focus on yourself, where your own needs are the only priority. It will provide you with the internal resources and strategies you need to thrive and cope with life as well as help to think about your situation objectively.

You may come to counselling with a specific difficulty you would like to focus on or perhaps a more generalised feeling of unhappiness. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll build a relationship where you’re able to work things through. Sharing unspoken thoughts and feelings can not only be a huge relief, it can also be transformative, enabling you to become more resilient and empowering you to make more positive choices in your life.

ABOUT ME

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). I use more than one counselling technique allowing me the flexibility to respond and adapt to each individual’s particular need.

In addition to my private practice I work at Chai Cancer Care with both patients and family members.
I worked at Central School of Speech and Drama with University students and also in a secondary school with young people aged 11- 18yrs.
I have worked as a volunteer counsellor at Barnet Carers

In my private practice I work with people aged 18 and over. I draw on twenty five years' experience of working in the film industry. I am practised in dealing with demanding and pressurised situations and the variety of ways in which people respond to those, as well as listening to people's stories and interpreting the masks they wear. I have facilitated a very diverse range of people to manage the pressure, get the best out of themselves & perform in a highly competitive environment.

I also have twenty years experience of supporting Special Needs. This has furnished me with a deep understanding of the complex emotional needs of families and carers in these situations and the coping strategies that work for different scenarios.
